Protect your Little ones, Salmonella recall of Eukanuba and Iams dry pet foods

Due to possible Salmonella contamination, Proctor & Gamble (P&G) issued a voluntary recall on August 14, 2013, for certain lots of Iams and Eukanuba pet foods. According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) press release, the lots included in the voluntary recall represent "roughly one-tenth of one percent (0.1%) of annual production."

 

These Iams and Eukanuba products were processed during a 10 day window at a single manufacturing site. Because P&G’s routine testing determined that some products made during this timeframe have the potential for Salmonella contamination, this voluntary recall has been issued. All lots affected are dry pet foods under the brand name Iams or Eukanuba. The recall does not impact treats or other items in the product line.

Because Salmonella contaminated foods can affect both animals and humans, owners are advised to watch for symptoms including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. Pets with Salmonella may be lethargic and have a decreased appetite, with symptoms including nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever.

As a precautionary measure, consumers who purchased a product listed on the table included in the FDA press release should stop using the product, discard it and contact P&G by calling 800-208-0172 or visiting www.iams.com or www.eukanuba.com.

'Duck Dynasty' could end up canceled over contract negotiations

Fans of "Duck Dynasty" are upset to hear the news that this show could end up not coming back for season 4. On March 27, Hollywood Reporter is reporting that they are having some contract negotiation problems and this show is in jeopardy over it.

They want a really big pay increase to stay around. A source is saying that they want $200,000 per episode which adds up when they have an entire season of shows. This would be for season 4 of the show, but then they would want raises when they came back for even more future seasons.

 

A&E is not saying anything at all about the negotiations at this time. Fans would be in total shock if "Duck Dynasty" did not return for a 4th season next year. Everyone loves this show and watching them work at Duck Commander. The Robertson family has to be on television. Make sure you check out the guys making a carrot call in this funny video.

RETURN OF JAWS

Another first this year is Shark Cam, a robot submarine that is used to track sharks in a new and exciting way. John Stamos From "Full House" Gives Back

John Stamos isn’t just helping people find a love for Oikos Greek yogurt, but he’s helping others find hope.

 

In a story from US Weekly on August 7, Stamos revealed that he will answer a 19-year-old’s request while she battles a serious bacterial infection.

Stamos will take 19-year-old Kaitlyn Dubrow to Disneyland after her family and she requested to meet the “Full House” star.

 

He snapped a picture and sent it through Twitter of himself and Dubrow posing next to her hospital bed at UC Irvine Medical Center in California.

 

“I'm ONLY doing this cause they asked. I said no press. but this story is a must read- plus me and katie have a date to Disneyland,” he wrote on Instagram Dubrow was diagnosed with meningococcemia in February 2012, which is a serious bacterial infection linked to meningitis that spreads through the bloodstream.

She went to the hospital after she woke up with a splitting headache.
The infection spread and cut off circulation to her limbs. She has undergone about a dozen surgeries which have left her without arms or legs.

“She ministers to me, it’s incredible,” her father Don said in a New York Daily News article. “She’s so upbeat. She gives all of us so much hope.”

 

Her family started a fundraiser to take care of medical expenses and costs of rehabilitation once doctors can make sure she is stable. The effort raised more than $75,000 on Kickstarter but continues to grow on another website that her family created.

 Surveillance videos from around the country show just how this quick and quiet crime takes place while the women are concentrating on pumping gas into their cars.

                    

A slider sneaks up to the passenger side of the woman's car, crouches down low and opens the passenger side door of the woman's car and grabs her purse, money, cell phone or anything else of value on the front seat of the car. They slide in and out, below eye level of the door, which is why they are referred to as sliders, said Houston police officer, Jim Woods.

The slider is long gone by the time the woman is finished pumping gas and by then her valuables are also long gone. Police are warning everyone to lock your doors while they pump gas, which is something most people don't do. The reason women are targeted by these criminals is because they carry a purse. Most women leave their purse on the front seat of the car next to them, where men usually carry their wallets in their pockets.

While the sliders crime is just starting to make national headlines, police in Houston have seen this crime for the last three years and it has been on the rise. These criminals aren't looking for a confrontation, they want the goods and they want a clean getaway. Women need to keep an eye on their surroundings while at a gas station and lock their doors.
